IFSC Code stands for Indian Financial System Code(IFSC) which is used to uniquely identify a banks branch in India for Real Time Gross Settlement(RTGS) and National Electronic Funds Transfer (NEFT) system.

It consists of 11 character(both numeric and alpha numeric) whereas first four alphabetic character represents banks and last seven character(generally numeric) represents its branch as identified by RBI(Reserve Bank of India). How to find the IFSC Code of my bank branch?
You can find the IFSC by direct entering your bank branch or by giving the required information.

1) Select Bank Name – Select bank name from drop down menu which contains all the operating banks in India.
2) Select State – Select your state where your bank is located
3) Select District – Select your bank’s branch district
4) Select Branch – Finally select your bank branch.

After giving all above required information our database will generate a table containing all the required information such as bank name, branch name, district, branch address, IFSC code and MICR code.

What is RTGS and NEFT fund transfer System?

In Real Time Gross Settlement(RTGS) transaction the settlement is in real time i.e instant processing of transaction as it received and the settlement of fund transfer occur individually. The minimum amount that can be transferred through RTGS is Rupees 2 lakh. While National Electronic Fund Transfer (NEFT) transaction occurs in batches at a specific time. According to RBI, NEFT transaction operates in hourly batches.

Can I transfer fund without knowing IFSC code?

No, In order to transfer fund you must add beneficiary account in your profile and without IFSC code you cannot add the beneficiary account.

What is MICR code?

Magnetic Ink Character Recognition(MICR) is a technology used by banks to recognize character which is found on the bottom of the cheque delivered by bank. MICR code contains information about beneficiary bank name, account number, bank branch, bank account number, etc. Unable to find IFSC code
